March 10, 2014 by

Leann Hager, currently in Central African Republic as CRS’ interim country director, speaks with EWTN Son Rise Morning Show’s host Matt Swaim about the conflict and violence happening in that country.

She speaks about the current state of the Catholic Church, which has served as a refuge for both Christians and Muslims as they flee their homes because of the violence. Hager also expresses hope for peace in CAR but acknowledges that it will take time.

CRS’ has been working with religious leaders as well as inter-faith groups to promote peace and reconciliation in CAR, where about 20 percent of the population has been displaced due to violence.
