CRS is monitoring Typhoon Bopha (known locally as Pablo) as it nears the Philippines. The storm, currently clocking winds up to 130 mph, is predicted to hit northern Mindanao Tuesday morning local time. CRS staff are in touch with dioceses that will be affected by the storm and are ready to respond where needed.

CRS Philippines is an expert in emergency response to natural disasters, most recently the August 2012 flooding in metro Manila and extensive emergency relief and shelter work in the aftermath of December 2011 flash flooding in Cagayan de Oro.

Interviews with staff on the ground are available.
