CRS President to Address Notre Dame Business School Graduation

Dr. Carolyn Woo, president & CEO of Catholic Relief Services, will be the featured speaker at this year’s graduate commencement of the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, where she served as dean before joining CRS.

Dr. Woo will also be presented with an honorary degree at the general commencement, along with Dr. Jude Banatte of CRS Haiti. And Ken Hackett, former president of CRS, will be presented with the Laetare Medal at the Notre Dame commencement, one of the highest honors presented to an American lay Catholic.

Carolyn Y. Woo, former Mendoza College dean and current president and chief executive officer of Catholic Relief Services, will be the featured speaker for the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business graduate commencement ceremony. The event will take place at 10 a.m. May 19 in Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center.

Woo will be receiving an honorary doctor of laws degree during the University of Notre Dame Commencement Ceremony, to be held at 9 a.m. May 20 in Notre Dame Stadium.

The graduate programs bestowing degrees include Notre Dame MBA, Executive MBA, Master of Nonprofit Administration and Master of Science in Accountancy. For a complete list of Mendoza College commencement events, including undergraduate ceremonies, visit the Mendoza commencement website.

Woo served as dean of the Mendoza College from 1997 to 2011. Under her leadership, the College earned top rankings for its academic programs, as well as recognition as the nation’s leading business school in ethics education and research.
