As a boy growing up in rural Ghana, Simon Laari drank water from the river.  And like many of his neighbors, he contracted the guinea worm parasite and experienced the excruciating pain of its removal.  That pain led Simon, son of a poor farmer, to seek a career in medicine.  With CRS, he was part of the campaign to wipeout guinea worm in Ghana.
