CRS World Report: Internships in Gaza

June 8, 2012 by

For many Palestinians, life is difficult in Gaza in the Palestinian territories where 40 percent of people are unemployed.  And for young adults who have worked hard to earn a college degree, the job search can be hopeless.  CRS runs a paid internship program there that opens the door to permanent jobs.

Bisan Abu Alfateh, left, was one of more than 800 college graduates selected by CRS to take part in a paid internship in Gaza. Thanks to that program, she now has a job at this local pharmacy. Photo by Anne Marie Marsa/CRS
