CRS World Report: Using Food to Help HIV Patients with Their Medicine

CRS has worked for many years in Rwanda with people living with HIV, particularly through our AIDSRelief program. Many of the patients in AIDSRelief benefit from the Food by Prescription program featured in this podcast. Photo by Rick D’Elia for CRS.

To make the medicines used to treat HIV work, patients need to eat 300 extra calories a day.  In Rwanda, CRS makes sure patients who are weak from poor nutrition gain strength by providing food by prescription.  It’s working.
