Last Thursday, Joan Rosenhauer, executive vice president for U.S. Operations at CRS, and Steven Mosher, president of Population Research Institute, were invited to talk on “Kresta in the Afternoon,” a radio program of Ave Maria Radio and EWTN.
Mr. Mosher’s organization has made allegations that CRS is not upholding Church teaching in our work in Madagascar. The “Kresta in the Afternoon” program gave CRS an opportunity to respond to the allegations.
CONTEXT FOR THE INTERVIEW
When Population Research Institute first made their allegations public, Cardinal Dolan and Bishop Kicanas contacted the archbishops in Madagascar to look into the matter. The Madagascar archbishops confirmed that CRS does indeed uphold Church teaching in our work. Further, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops Administrative Committee issued a statement supporting CRS and affirmed that CRS’ work in Madagascar and around the world does uphold Church teaching.
