Catholic Relief Services is pleased to be selected by Microsoft as one of six “Gold NGOs,” as announced at its Partners in Learning Global Forum 2012 on Saturday. Microsoft has developed these alliances in support of its recently-announced “YouthSpark” program, an initiative to create opportunities for 300 million youth worldwide. YouthSpark is part of a wider Microsoft commitment to bring holistic transformation of education systems around the world.
Microsoft’s announcement also included a commitment of up to $75 million to bring digital access to youth and educators in developing nations.
As a Microsoft “Gold NGO,” CRS will draw on its expertise in education programs – including programming for at-risk youth such as the Youth Builders program in Central America – in more than 50 countries around the world.
