The San Francisco Boys Chorus, performing in front of more than 600 people, gave a performance last week to raise funds for relief efforts in the Philippines. The event raised over $15,000, which will go to Catholic Relief Services. CRS has been distributing emergency shelters and hygiene kits in some of the most affected areas by Typhoon Haiyan, and is planning for a long-term response.
“I think it’s great we can put our talents to use to do something to help those less fortunate than us,” Kevin Reidy, a member of the San Francisco Boys Chorus, tells San Francisco’s KTVU.
